
The Rev. Alex Shea Will wears several hats: pastor, educator, coach, and entrepreneur, all driven by his deep commitment to nurturing both individuals and organizations.
He currently holds the role of Area Conference Minister for the Northeast Region in the Southern New England Conference of the United Church of Christ (UCC). In this position, he collaborates closely with over 100 congregations to help them achieve their goals. On a daily basis, he offers career and professional development coaching to individuals, provides executive search support, and imparts strategic guidance to congregations. His expertise in conflict resolution, and unwavering dedication to inclusivity are integral to his work.
Before this, Alex served as Associate Pastor at South Church in Andover, Massachusetts for six years. Notably, his tech-savvy approach ensured a seamless transition to online worship during the COVID-19 crisis. He played a creative role in its development, weekly production, and long-term strategy. Pre-pandemic, he championed innovative approaches to stewardship, programming, and the engagement of new members, resulting in increased financial contributions, participation, and stronger community ties. He was also a co-founder of PATH, a consortium focused on pastoral formation, bringing together clergy, churches, and seminaries to shape transformative leaders for the 21st century. In his teaching capacity, he designed courses in "Entrepreneurship and Leadership in the Local Church" and "Church and Pastoral Administration."
Alex hails from the Boston, Massachusetts area and holds a Master of Divinity from Andover Newton Theological School, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Catawba College, an institution affiliated with the UCC. Currently, he is pursuing a pre-MBA certificate in business foundations at the University of Massachusetts: Lowell. In his leisure time, you'll often find him enjoying rugby, basketball, or soccer.
