![]() As written for Evening Worship @the Well One: This week we light the first candle of Advent; the candle of hope. Many: Hope for all we can imagine, and all the dreams that seem unreachable. One: You see, the hope we celebrate in Advent is bigger than political posturing. Many: A hope that can’t be contained by admonitions to “be realistic!” One: Advent hope isn’t about magic or wishes; it’s about opening our hearts to the new, exciting, and even scary, things God is doing in our homes, in our churches, and even in the world. Many: Let us welcome hope into our hearts, unbounded by doubt, and alive with expectation. Amen.
